Salus Global is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lisa Calder, CEO of the CMPA, to the Salus Global’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Calder is an award-winning emergency physician, researcher, and teacher, who completed her Medical Degree at the University of Western Ontario and completed her MSc in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa. She pursued her passion for patient safety by completing two fellowships in Patient Safety. Lisa began working for the CMPA in 2015 as the Director of Medical Care Analytics and became the CEO of the CMPA in August of 2020.
It is quite fitting that this week Salus Global announced the release of the 19th Edition of Obstetrical Content prepared exclusively for their flagship OB safety and performance program moreOB. Both moreOB (and its non-OB sister-program moreEX) focus on increasing safety by minimizing risk through a variety of known and proven levers including enhanced teamwork and collaboration, effective communication, debriefing, simulation and more. As so eloquently captured in their mission, they create expert teams from teams of experts.

The Salus Global Patient Safety Award application process is open to current and past program participants. The award recognizes impact ‘above and beyond’ and is an opportunity for teams to celebrate achievements, reflect on accomplishments and showcase their teams’ effort in the implementation of the moreOB or moreEX Program within their unit or hospital. For Salus Global, the award represents an opportunity for us to recognize these successes, promote the program benefits and share stories.
Lisa Young joins the team from the HORN Sales & Leadership Development Company (‘HORN’) where she was Senior Vice President, Blended Learning Solutions and Operational head. In her almost 15 years with HORN, she helped design and deliver many complex, customized learning programs in a wide range of industries. She is an expert facilitator and innovative thinker. Lisa has already had exposure to Salus Global and vice versa. In her role at HORN, she led several initiatives working closely with Product Management and Program Delivery team. This provided her with a deep understanding of the organization, its vision and its values. Lisa’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree and a Bachelors and Masters of Education, and she is completing her PhD in Education with OISE at the University of Toronto.
