Salus Global Announces Two New Board Appointments

Salus Global is pleased to announce two new appointments to the Board of Directors:  Ms. Wendy Nicklin and Dr. Helen Scott.

 

Wendy-Nicklin

 

Ms. Nicklin is President (Board Chair) of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) https://www.isqua.org/.  She is a valued active partner in discussions about improving the quality of health care and a recognized health care leader both across Canada and internationally.  Her experience has included the National Steering Committee for Patient Safety, a founding Board member on the Canadian Patient Safety Institute Board and over 11 years as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Accreditation Canada.

 

She obtained her academic degrees at McGill University and has extensive experience as a critical care nurse.

 

Helen Scott

 

Dr. Scott is Chief Executive Officer and one of the founders of CanWaCH https://www.canwach.ca/, an epidemiologist and a leader with a track record of building and leading initiatives and partnerships in reproductive, maternal and child health and rights.  She is passionate about analyzing, integrating, and sharing data to advance the solutions to complex challenges in community health. As a collaborator, she cultivates partnerships that empower organizations to deepen their impact, reach, and relevance in order to drive progress and mobilize for collective action.

 

She holds an Assistant Professor appointment at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. She completed a doctorate in epidemiology at the University of Toronto, where she was awarded a Vanier Canada Scholarship. Over her career, she has worked with the World Health Organization, Health Canada, Provincial Health Units, hospital research institutes, and not for profits.

 

Commenting on the appointments, Board Chair and CEO of the SOGC, Dr. Jenny Blake shared, “On behalf of the Salus Global Board, we are delighted to be joined by Dr. Helen Scott and Ms. Wendy Nicklin, working together to improve safety and quality in healthcare. Their extensive expertise will make them invaluable assets to Salus Global and to the delivery of safe, high quality health care.”
